NAME

curs_delch, delch, wdelch, mvdelch, mvwdelch - Delete the character under the cursor in a Curses window

SYNOPSIS

#include <curses.h> int delch( void ); int wdelch( WINDOW *win ); int mvdelch( int y, int x ); int mvwdelch( WINDOW *win, int y, int x );

LIBRARY

Curses Library (libcurses)

STANDARDS

Interfaces documented on this reference page conform to industry standards as follows: delch, wdelch, mvdelch, mvwdelch: XCURSES4.2 Refer to the standards(5) reference page for more information about industry standards and associated tags.

DESCRIPTION

These routines do the following: · Delete the character under the cursor in the current or specified window · Move all characters that are to the right of the cursor and on the same line to the left one position · Fill the last character on the line with a blank. These routines do not change the cursor position (after moving to y, x, if specified). This does not imply use of the hardware delete-character feature.

NOTES

The header file <curses.h> automatically includes the header file <stdio.h>. Note that delch, mvdelch, and mvwdelch may be macros.

RETURN VALUES

All routines return ERR upon failure and OK upon successful completion.
