 II - NOTES

The Linux versions (binary and rpm) have been made with libc6, so it does not work
on old Linuxes such as Red Hat 5.2. To use Scilab on these machines, you have to
compile a source version.

When compiling the source version on recent Linux versions, due to a library 
incompatibility you have to use xaw3d instead of the default xaw library. 
To do this, you have to configure and make scilab as follows
./configure -with-xaw3d -with-tk
make all

The scilab-2.6.bin.sgi.tar.gz  version had required source modification and cannot 
be re-obtained by compiling the source distribution.
